President William Ruto planting tree in past

The step that the president William Samoe Ruto has taken by making Monday a public holiday is very vital. This is because the tree planting launch which is set to begin on Monday will push forward the jaza miti initiative which is the presidential directive in which Safaricom in collaboration with the ministry of Environment, forest and climate change alongside other state ministries came up with an ambitious nationwide drive to plant 15 Billion trees by 2032.
Tree planting is really necessary especially now that may parts of the country are experiencing heavy rains and there is need for the people in the country to make use of rain.
Tree planting also will work to reduce greenhouse emissions, stops and reverse deforestation and improving climate regulating streams and river flows, conserving and protecting the soil mantle and providing stable habitats for wildlife.
There is need for all Kenyans to come out on Monday and be part of the exercise since the initiative will avail seedlings to farmers through woodlot establishments and agroforestry and so trees will be planted everywhere and not necessarily on gazetted forests.
