After the Announcement of upgrading simcards was communicated to users in Kenya, by the communication authority, Kenyans are seen to have given attention to it. There are long queues seen in every Sim card registration centers. This shows how they are beating up time and re register their Sim cards afresh.
The act of re-registering simcards again will help keep frauders away from coning or stealing from people as witnessed earlier. Users will undergo an easy step to ensure that their simcards are fully secured from frauders. Therefore one needs to take himself/herself to the the Sim card registration centers by themselves. This is because in order to fully secure your line, a picture of yourself and your ID, is taken by the people allowed to do the registration.
Business people are seen in large groups since most of them use their simcards to communicate with their suppliers or customers and also they use the Sim cards to keep their money or borrow loans.
War on to those that do not have their IDs or those who just picked an ID by the road side, and decided to register a line and threw the ID away.
This act is considered as a crime and those that are involved are the young people who are underage. They will be forced to buy new lines and register using their parents ID or their elder brothers and sisters. The parents will be the ones who are taken picture to secure their underage children’s line.
Kenyans should be wise and use this time to register their Sim cards fully, since there will be no extension of deadline to whoever misses to register his/her Sim cards by 15th April. They should not wait till their lines are locked or out of service, as this will bring very long queues to the telecommunication centers.
