The NPS Director Corporate Communications/Spokesperson Dr. Resila A. Onyango has assumed office in her new role following a brief ceremony held at the NPS Headquarters yesterday.
Until her appointment, Dr. Resila was the NPS’ Deputy Director of Administration, Planning and Finance.
She assumes office from her predecessor, Bruno Shioso, who has been at the helm of the department since August 2021.
An Ivy League graduate, Dr. Resila is a holder of a PhD and MPhil in Criminal Justice from the Graduate Center /John Jay College of Criminal Justice- The City University of New York (CUNY), USA under the CUNY Graduate Center Doctorate Fellowship and a Masters Science degree in Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, under the Ford Foundation International Fellowship Programme.
Previously, she served as a Criminal Intelligence Officer at the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).
Dr. Resila has also taught Criminal Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice USA and United States International University-Africa.
A UN-Certified Trainer on Peace Support Operations and a Certified Regional Facilitator for the Eastern Africa Standby Force, Dr. Resila is also a Visiting Fellow at Drexel University, USA in her capacity as a Criminal Justice Expert.
Shioso OGW, AIG is moving to the National Police College Main Campus- Kiganjo as the Commandant.
