Kenya Kwanza team on Sunday unveiled their running mate during the fourth coming August general elections.
“I am proud to unveil a true partner in this journey, a man who has supported this cause and will help us in the final stretch as we seek to deliver a victory for the Hustler Nation,” DP Ruto said.
While announcing his running mate, Deputy President Dr William Ruto noted that Rigathi Gachagua emerged the best from a team of several leaders who were being fronted by different interested individuals and parties.
He disclosed that Tharaka Nithi county Senator Prof. Kindiki Kithure was the runner-up for the DP.
Others he said that were subjected to scrutiny were Kirinyaga County governor Ann Mumbi Waiguru who he described as having missed the opportunity by a whisker. The other was Kandara constituency MP Alice Wahome.
He requested the hustler nation to join him in welcoming Gachagua, “Join me and other Kenya Kwanza team in welcoming and congratulating Rigathi Gachagua for ascending to the position of the Running-mate for the Hustler Nation. Hon. Gachagua has the requisite drive, knowledge and stamina to help us transform our country.”
While accepting the nomination as Kenya Kwanza DP, Gachagua said it was great honour that marked one of the greatest days of his life.

Kenya Kwanza captain Musalia Mudavadi of ANC party while congratulating Gachagua said his many years in the civil service will be a plus to their dream of transforming our country’s economic fortunes.
“On my own behalf and that of the ANC party, I congratulate Hon Rigathi Gachagua for his deserved nomination as the Kenya Kwanza Alliance’s Deputy President. Your many years in the civil service will be a plus to our dream of transforming our country’s economic fortunes,” Musalia Mudavadi said.
