Security officers in Kisii County have recovered four Machetes and political reflector written one of the aspirants, near entry of the IEBC office in Kisii County.
This is after they pre-empted violence as gubernatorial aspirants were being cleared by IEBC on 6/6/2022.
The seized weapons were recovered four days earlier when the police officers seized some wooden weapons in the county.
Addressing the press Kisii County commander Francis Kooli said that they have launched investigation over the incidence.
The County Commander said they received a tip off from the public that they some plans were underway to cause chaos in the county.
“We did our search and we have seized the branded weapons,”Kooli said.
Kooli said that they have four names of the suspected persons in possession of the weapons and they have forwarded the names to the DCI office for interrogation.
The County boss cited that the culprits will face the law .
He cautioned some politicians with intent on militia to cause violence will face the law.
Mr Kooli urged the public and politicians to maintain peace during abd after the election.
However Team Kenya Kwanza in Kisii have disputed the claims that they are the one who were in possession of the weapons.
Kisii Aspiring Governor Ezekiel Machogu under UDA party asked the security officers to conduct investigation.
“This is the political season, politician can camouflage to do anything to gain mileage as they turnish other’s name,”he said.
Ogamba Migosi said that they are peace loving team and they have been moving at the county preaching peace.
Migosi urged their opponents to be ambassador of peace.
Kisii aspiring senator Joash Maangi called upon electorates to maintain peace as he urges them to vote for them August polls.
They challenged the security officers not to handle issues in a manner alluding to be biased.
