Senator Gloria Orwoba Kicked Out Of Senate For Showing Up With Stained Clothes

Drama observed in parliament on Tuesday 14, when nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba was expelled from senate plenary meeting donning for seemed to be unacceptable and indecent clothing.
Senator Orwoba arrived at the meeting wearing a white blazer, a green top and a matching white trouser. The Senator walked to parliament precincts with ‘blood ‘stained white suite pants to demonstrate the ordeal girls and women go through when experiencing their menstrual cycle. Tabitha Mutinda, a fellow nominated senator spotted a stain in senator Orwoba’s pants and brought up the issue on the House floor as a point of order. She asked speaker Amason Kingi for guidance on the dress code. She referred to senator Orwoba’s dress code as “indecent”. In reference to the dress code senator Mutinda stated “I stand in need for clarification on speakers rule no 5in regards to dress code and I need to seek advice if Senator Gloria is appropriately dressed for the house.
Adding, “As a woman and a senator, I find it extremely uncomfortable and improper for our colleague Senator Gloria to come in and it is so obscene because you can’t tell whether she is really on her period or just pretending to be.”
Tabitha’s sentiments were echoed by Kitui senator Enoch Wambua and his Narok counterpart Ledama ole Kina who stated that the senator should have come herself after the mess due to her periods.
While making his ruling to kick her out, speaker Kingi said that there is a behavior that a woman is expected to uphold whenever they are going through period. He then directed her to leave the House and come back with unstained clothes.
