African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) Secretary General was yesterday charged in a Kiambu court with being in possession of fake currency notes.
Bernard Maina Mwangi, however denied the accusation and was released on bond pending hearing and determination of the matter.
Before Kiambu Magistrate Muthoni Kamau, Maina was accused being in possession of fake 365,000 US dollars and 96,000 Kenyan shilling notes along Kiambu Road on Friday last week. The fake currencies were in his car which he was driving.
According to investigators, suspect was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) following a tip-off from members of public.
