Tetu Constituency Member of Parliament James Gichuhi Mwangi is optimistic of winning the UDA party nominations as he seeks a second term as area legislator.
The MP want the constituents to give him a chance to enable him complete and start new development projects in the area.
Speaking in his constituency yesterday, the MP outlined various issues and projects he had undertaken since he was elected give years ago.
He cited rehabilitation of roads, improvement of security and learning institutions infrastructures and issuance of bursaries to the needy in the area.
He particularly pointed out the construction of a new road from Ihithe through the Aberdare Ranges to Nyandarua County which he had would unlock his constituency potential as it will be used by many people going to southern part of Nyandarua, Naivasha, Gilgil and Narok.
He told the constituents not to be swayed by monied aspirants who had migrated in the area from Nairobi but instead elect him as he has always stood with them.
“There are some people who have come from Nairobi and are saying they will give you money to vote for them. Be wise and vote for me as you know my potential, ” he said.
He also disclosed that if elected for the second time, he will see to it that all secondary schools in the area acquire buses to ease student’s transport when going for academic or extracurricular activities. The same buses are usually used by local communities when going for various activities outside their respective villages.
The MP who is a lawyer by profession is expected to battle it during the UDA nominations with among others Nairobi nominated MCA Ms Anita Thumbi, businessmen Geoffrey Wandetto and Matutu Mathenge.
