The Creative Writers group has been a beacon of creativity and inspiration since its inception on May 22, 2020. Founded by Mrs. Brinda, a renowned teacher and poet from Tamil Nadu, India, the WhatsApp group was started during the pandemic lockdown to engage students and teachers in various activities that foster knowledge sharing and skill enhancement. The group’s focus areas include writing, reading, listening, and speaking.
From humble beginnings with a handful of members, the Creative Writers group has grown to boast over 400 active members, comprising teachers and students. Mrs. Brinda, an accomplished author and poet, has been instrumental in shaping the group’s unique approach. Each day, members are presented with chosen topics and selected backgrounds, allowing them to think, write, and reflect on their work. The poems are then converted into videos and uploaded to the Creative Writers YouTube channel, preserving the creative output for posterity.
The group has also hosted several online poetry competitions, awarding certificates and prizes to winners to encourage writers. To date, six online poetry competitions have been held, and regular attendance certificates are given to consistent contributors. The best reviewer certificates are also awarded, and a cash reward challenge has been introduced to motivate reviewers. The e-certificates issued by the group are significant, bearing the signatures of dignitaries.
Through its innovative approach and commitment to nurturing creativity, The Creative Writers group has become a vibrant community of writers, poets, and learners. Under Mrs. Brinda’s guidance, the group continues to inspire and empower its members, promoting a love for writing and self-expression.
One of the Creative Writers group’s most notable achievements is the publication of six anthologies, which has helped nurture many budding authors. The group has also made significant contributions to various magazines, including Namaste India and the Times of India newspaper, Student Edition. In a remarkable display of patriotism and unity, the writers of the Creative Writers Group came together to salute the Indian Armed Forces, creating a world record by authoring 150 books by 113 authors. This achievement earned them a place in the IWR Book of Records.
The Creative Writers group’s objectives are multifaceted, aiming to improve writing and thinking skills, foster creativity, and provide a platform for all to express their imaginations and emotions through writing. The group operates in the evening hours, from 7 pm to 10 pm, with simple yet thought-provoking topics and captivating backgrounds that inspire members to write creatively.
A unique aspect of the group is the Aspirant group, which allows teachers to correct and rectify errors, helping students learn from their mistakes. The group has also introduced an open mic session, where students participate without fear, shedding inhibitions and gaining confidence. Their performances are recorded and uploaded, allowing them to watch previous performances and improve.
The group regularl providing appreciation certificates to its members. Additionally, the Creative Writers Bi-monthly e-magazine showcases students’ latent talents, featuring creative writings, drawings, and artwork.
In conclusion, the Creative Writers group has blossomed into a global platform, fostering talent, building confidence, and igniting creative voices across borders. The group’s achievements serve as a testament to the power of literature and community spirit, inspiring aspiring writers everywhere.
