A bond of friendship, strong and true,
Yet, in times of need, we turn anew.
A friend lies dying, a family in pain,
But we’re too busy, with no time to gain.
We send empty gestures, hollow and wide,
And lack the depth, to be by their side.
Our smiles are plastic, our words are few,
Leaving loved ones, with nothing to do.
We’re quick to judge, but slow to care,
Our actions speak, of a love that’s rare.
We prioritize, our own selfish needs,
And leave the vulnerable, with worn-out deeds.
Human hypocrisy, a tale so old,
We preach kindness, but practice cold.
Let’s confront our flaws, and make things right,
For a friendship that’s genuine, shining bright.
ABOUT THE POEM:
I poured my heart and soul into crafting ‘The Hypocrisy of Kindness,’ a poem that confronts the harsh realities of human relationships. I wanted to shed light on the disconnect between our words and actions, and how we often prioritize our own needs over the well-being of others.
I spent countless hours reflecting on my own experiences and observations, searching for the right words to convey the complexity of human emotions. I sought to create a narrative that would resonate with readers and inspire them to introspection.
Through this poem, I aimed to challenge societal norms and encourage empathy, kindness, and genuine connection. I hope that my words will inspire readers to reevaluate their own relationships and strive for authenticity.
