Third year university student at Kisii County arrested over impersonation of KCSE exams

A third year university student at Kisii County has been arrested over impersonation of Kenya certificate of secondary education (KCSE) examinations which kicked off Monday at Kiamabundu Mixed secondary school.
A, 20 years old Angwenyi Brian Nyakeri and a third year student was sitting the national examinations for Nyamweya James Martin who registered at a private center which was hosted by Kiamabundu secondary for the national examination.
The accused person Angwenyi was arrested while sitting for English paper one which was ongoing.
Confirming the incident, Kisii central sub county police Commander Peter Kimani said police officers were alerted after the invigilator, supervisors and security officers suspected of the impersonation act.
“The suspect was arrested and taken to kisii police station where he is recording a statement and he will be taken to court tomorrow,” said Kisii OCPD.
The OCPD warned anyone with ill intentions of examination cheating and said they are on high alert to deal with them.
Cs Education Prof George Magoha warned that the government is closely monitoring some parents and teachers who are actively trying to engage in examination malpractice.
