Uphold Honesty In Your Work, Former CS Kaimenyi Urges Judicial Officers

Former Cabinet Secretary Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi has called on law practitioners in the country to uphold the highest levels of integrity in the course of their duties.
Prof. Kaimenyi who is a former CS Education for Education and Lands said judges, magistrates and lawyers were paragons of virtue and the society therefore expected them to maintain honesty and impartiality as they dispense justice.
The former CS was speaking at a Kiambu hotel during a thanksgiving ceremony for one of the new advocates, Ms Evajoy Kamuto, who was among new lawyers who were admitted to the bar on Friday.
Ms Kamuto is the daughter of retired career government journalist, Joseph Kamuto.
The CS who is also a former Ambassador to Belgium emphasised that judicial officers are the cornerstone of a free and just society and for that matter, much was expected from them.
He appealed to young advocates joining the legal fraternity to seek advice from the old and experienced counsels in order to make them better lawyers.
In her sermon during the ceremony, PCEA Banana Parish Minister who is also the Kiambu Presbytery moderator, Rev. Mary Muriuki echoed Prof. Kaimenyi sentiments, saying much was expected from them by the society as they dispensed justice.
And in his remarks, retired Reverend, Professor Peter Kariuki of St.
Andrew PCEA Church, Nairobi also reiterated that administration of justice calls for utmost wisdom and honesty.
