Even as the electioneering count down is coming down day by day. The Kenyans electorate are remaining in dilemma on who to elect to the house of cards occasionally known as the house on the hill. The question on the succession on the various seats in the country in the coming of the August political contest is due to the dynamics in the political games of the political class that keeps their affiliated members to an horrific decision making.
But the real question is “Do the electorate have proper mandate on the leadership and the role of each leader to be elected. “The Kenyan constitution 2010 highlights leadership and integrity in article 73 that is much concerned with the purpose of ensuring that a state and a public officer respect the values ,principles and requirements of the constitution. This provision by law gives the electorate to sole search and to focus on the kind of the leader to confirm to the ballot in the political battle. With the most electorate being left in darkness about the roles of the leaders they elect for various seats. It becomes difficult for them to discern various achievements and services provided to them by those in national and the county government leadership.
The electorate have also have headache on the person to elect to represent them as most of the contesters of the August house been seasoned violators of the rule of law that makes the electorate question their integrity and respect to humanity and the office they hold. This is repulsive to the article 73 section two that demands that a public officer is selected based on the personal integrity, competence and sustainability. The same section pronounces the objectivity and impartially in decision making in ensuring that the decision they make are not influenced based on solely on public interest demonstrated by honesty in executive work of the office.
