- Things became worse for Arshad Sharif in 2022 after he had a conversation with Shahbaz who was close to the former Pakistan cabinet Secretary and where it is said that during that conversation, Arshad talked negative about the Government and the Army of Pakistan.
- In August 2022, Arshad was faced with allegations of incite to the Army and the Government of Pakistan. It is said that Arshad had reported and talked of his life being in danger and how he was regularly threatened before fleeing from the country early in August. ARY Tv that had employed Arshad Sharif for 8 yrs terminated his job for allegations that he used social media sites not in accordance with the company policy and they wished him well in his future endeavors.
Arshad Sharif was a journalist from Pakistan and was shot dead by GSU officers. He was born in February 1973 in Pakistan. His father was a navy officer in the Pakistan’s Army. In 1993, Arshad Sharif who was at that time 20yrs and a student in one of the Public Universities in Pakistan.
He joined Journalism Profession where he wrote several stories as Independent Writer. His stories and writings that majorly based on the fight against violation of rights of various institutions and also violation of human rights enabled him to become famous in Pakistan.
Majorly his efforts to fight against the violation of human rights and revealing of incidences of corruption which were linked with some of the famous people in his country. In 2012, He made efforts to fight cases of terrorism. In 2019, He was awarded by the president of Pakistan Arif Alvi due to his efforts in the journalism Profession

Those who knew him said that since the month of August, he has been in the cities of Dubai, England and Middle East countries before paving his way to Kenya.Before his death, he was among the people and Journalists who were interviewed in a special article known as ” Behind Closed Doors” that aimed to reveal activities of corruption that involved famous people who who were believed to evade taxation.
Even after his job was terminated by ARY Tv, Arshad continued to post information on social media where his last information that he posted was 4 days ago. He has died at the age of 49yrs leaving behind his wife and five children.
The Pakistan’s Government has dispatched a team of top security professionals to ascertain the circumstances under which GSU Officers killed Arshad Sharif in what the police are terming as Mistaken identity.Arthur Waheed who’s the director of Federal Investigation Authority and Omar Shahid Hamid who’s the Deputy Director General are among those who have been send by the Pakistan Government to investigate on the cause of killing of the Pakistan Journalists Arshad Sharif.
This comes after the police claim that the occupants in the Sharif’s car fired at them injuring one of the GSU Officers before they were shot back killing Sharif Instantly.He was shot at a road block mannered by GSU Officers in Kamukuru Area.The police had received reports of a Mercedes Benz with registration number KDJ 700F that was allegedly stolen from Pangani Area then made its way to the area and the Security Officers from Nairobi had directed them to put road blocks to stop the thieves.
