Why It Is Hard To Believe Raila’s Claims That Chebukati Visited His Home?

Worth Noting:
- The ongoing demonstrations will lead to a mother of all public protests which will force Ruto and his Rigathi Gachagua to flee the country.
- Azimio is borrowing a leaf from Sri Lanka where the president was forced to flee the country. This is after tens of thousands protestors stormed the capital city and forcibly took charge of the presidential palace.
- In view of this, I would expect Ruto’s administration to change the tack and strategy. They should no longer treat the ongoing public protests as a child play. Don’t wait until when it is too late?
- We do not want to see our country sliding back to orgy of violence and political anarchies such as those witnessed in lead-up, during and after general elections held in 1992, 1997 and 2007, respectively.
A few days ago, the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga claimed that the chairman of IEBC Wafula Chebukati visited his Karen home in eve of the election.
He termed this as the second dossier. He spoke during a political rally at Jacaranda ground in Nairobi.
This was preceded by the rally he had held some days earlier during which he alleged that he had dossier that shows he had won the August 9, 2022 presidential election.
We got it from a whistle blower working at the IEBC, a patriotic Kenyan ready to pay the ultimate price for truth, justice to come out.
There can never be peace and development without truth and justice, he insisted.
We in Azimio do not recognize Mr Ruto as the President of Kenya and the officials serving in his administration.
This is because he stole my victory. Raila had just jetted back from South Africa.
After being received by his confidantes and diehard allies, Raila’s convoy left JKIA and headed to Kamukunji ground. Along the way he accepted greetings from pockets of his supporters.
In the second protest rally at Jacaranda, he reiterated that he won the election.
We are calling on Ruto to immediately vacate State House and clear the way for Baba.
To me, Raila’s claims sounded more of propaganda, rumors and cooked stories.
He knew majority of his supporters were ignorant, lacked civic education and were economically unstable. Therefore, he was out to misuse them to cause chaos and violence.
The ultimate goal is to sabotage development agenda of President Ruto administration.
He hopes to use this card to force Dr Ruto to change his mind and agree to talk with him.
Look, the country is burning. Ruto has no option other than to seek a cease fire.
I want to draw the attention of Kenyans to the headline story of the current issue of a Weekly newspaper.
It avers that if Ruto fails to cave in to Raila’s pressure to share the government with him, the former Prime and his brigade were plotting to stage a bloodless coup against his administration.

Yes, as an opposition outfit, Azimio is entitled to correct the government of the day when it goes wrong.
It is, however, required to discharge its mandate in accordance with laws of land.
Plotting to a civilian coup or toppling a popular elected government is unconstitutional and it is categorized as a capital offence.
This is not the first time that Raila is using this strategy to push for what was widely viewed as his personal interests and those of close cronies and relatives.
Back to the dossiers, one would have expected Raila to use this ‘evidence’ to support his petition at the Supreme Court.
Six months have lapsed since the court dismissed his petition and upheld President William Ruto’s victory. Does he expect Kenyans to trust him now?
Chebukati has vehemently denied that he visited him at his Karen home. He has given him an ultimatum of 7 days to prove his claims.
Raila says he has a video showing this visit. I challenge him to release it immediately. If he fail to do so, I will direct my lawyers to commence legal proceedings against him.
It is worth noting that Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have also commenced investigations into the authenticity of the ‘Whistle blower dossier’ that Raila has been referring to in trying to justify he had won the elections.
If it turns out that this document had been cooked and contained falsified and forged information, the law will take its full cause.
Kenyans will wait to see how Raila responds.
If he opts to politicize these matters, this would once again re-enforce the fear of those saying Raila is out to burn our country.
His eyes were trained on a ‘nusu mkate’. Past experiences have shown he thrives in violence and chaos to get it.
