YOU DON’T NEED TO MISS THIS MAN’S STORY

My name is Stephen Mwikya Kasimu. I am a teacher by profession. My driving force and what I believe in is “Everything is possible with a willing heart.”

Stephen likes doing the right thing not because he is being watched or because he will be rewarded but because it is the right thing to do. I am a proud father of two and I currently teach at a school in Kiambu County besides being an entrepreneur who ventured into business.

Having gone through hard times during the COVID-19 pandemic, an idea came to my mind of starting a business. In December 2020 I decided to start a grocery. I used to wake up at 4:30am to go to the market and purchase the items in bulky. The little profit I got, I decided to expand my business by adding food stuffs and household commodities.

Since everything in one’s life is a reflection of a choice he/she once made, I chose to double my efforts in this field. I used to wake up at 4:30am to make sure everything was in place and my produce were in stock before my shop attendant arrived.

I leave for work at 5:45am. In the evening, I get into my business premises and attend to my customers up to 10:30Pm and later leave for home.

The best part about being and entrepreneur is having the opportunity to take an idea and make it a reality, honestly success is sweeter and more enjoyable when you see customers enjoying your products and services.

The hardest part about being an entrepreneur is doubting one-self and the fluctuation of prices of different commodities from time to time.

I like reading articles related to business and interacting with business people.

My special thanks go to TRIZAH TRAINS (who owns several businesses). She really mentored me and advised me accordingly .

I advertise my products majorly through social media platforms (Facebook Stephen Mwikya, Email Stephenmwikya124@gmail.com, whatsapp; 0717506636)

My advice to the new entrepreneur is, be humble and learn. At the beginning it might be tough but if you get a mentor you will see things working well. Lastly work hard, because without hard work nothing grows but weeds.
