To be a powerful, effective Christian means that you must be a prisoner, a slave to Jesus Christ. When God says to do something, you do it, with no regard for what people may think about you or say about you. You obey Him regardless of how you feel at any given moment or about any given thing. To be a prisoner of Jesus Christ is to be chained to Him, which means you automatically go where He goes, say what He says, and do what He does. It is to comply with His will fully and to allow the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit to rule your heart and mind.
The time has come when we must stop confusing preachers with politicians. Shaking hands and kissing babies is not what being a preacher is all about! Being a preacher is solely about obedience to God and saying what God wants said. And this applies to all believers! Whether we are clergy or laity, full-time or part-time, on staff or a volunteer—we are all ministers and prisoners of Jesus Christ.
Paul knew that eventually he was going to be killed for the Gospel he preached. Nevertheless, he preached it— passionately and joyfully. How many Christians today would be willing to go to a city and preach the Gospel if they knew the result of their obedience could be imprisonment or death? I suspect very few. I reiterate the Scripture: “For this cause I Paul( Ev. Eric Musa), the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles.” (EPHESIANS 3:1)
