The new chairman of Tana Water Works Development Agency Wanyaga Gathaka yesterday met with the firm’s Chief Executive Officer Eng. Philip Gichuki.
The who met on the first day when the chairman visited the agency headquarters at Tana House in Nyeri town deliberated on the way forward for the organisation that is mandate to coordinate water and sanitation activities in at least eight counties.
These are Nyeri Kirinyaga, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Isiolo, Marsabit, Garissa and part of Laikipia.
Gathaka said he wanted to familiarise himself with region his agency is mandated to work before charting the way forward.
He thanked The Presidency for appointing him to steer essential services in the region.
The appointment of Gathaka last week was among the changes made by the Kenya Kwanza administration in different organisations.
President William Ruto and several of his Cabinet Secretaries announced changes in at least 20 parastatals in a move saw individuals who stuck with the President and his team during the campaigns rewarded while those who supported the Azimio La Umoja kicked out.
Gathaka replaced Kikuyu Council of Elders vice chairman Eng. David Muthoga.
