Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi Visits Murang’a County MP Betty Maina’s Family To Ask For A Hand In Marriage

Mathira constituency Member of Parliament Eric Wamumbi on Saturday officially declared his intention to marry Murang’a County Women Representative Betty Maina.
Together with his family and friends, he paid the first visit to the parents of Betty in Muran’ga for a ceremony known in Gìkùyŭ community as ‘kùhanda Ithīgì’ which means that the girl is now officially booked.
Elders from both sides initiated the process with the first steps being completed during the weekend visit.
This will be followed by a dowry commonly referred to as the ‘Rùracio’ ceremony at a later date.
Dozens of leaders and businesses people accompanied the youthful legislator.
