Those Trying To Drag The Name of Gachagua In Kenyattas’ Farm Raid Were Just Playing Politics

- Gachagua would always remind the Azimio brigade. Kenya is not a banana republic. It is a democratic country governed by the rule of law and constitution.
- So, if you have a bone to pick with President William Ruto and I, use the right legal channels.
- If you want to do demonstrations, Article 37 of the Constitution was very clear. The protests must be peaceful and so those participating ought to be unarmed.
- They were only required to carry written petitions listing the issues they wanted addressed which they should present to public authorities.
- Listening to the statements attributed to Gachagua, he truly understood his constitutional mandate.
I have in the recent past heard a group of the well-known critics of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua drawn from Mount Kenya region trying the drag his name to the raid at former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family land in Northlands.
These claims were first made at the peak of the bloody and destructive demonstrations organized and led by the leader of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga.
In a rage of anger, a section of the Kenya Kwanza leaders from Mount Kenya minced no word in condemning and hitting out at the organisers of the anti-government protests.
They repeatedly pointed an accusing finger at former President Uhuru Kenyatta as being the sponsor of the demos.
The ultimate goal of the organisers is to destroy the businesses and properties owned by the Kikuyus.
In a day of the demonstration in Nairobi, our kin were always left counting losses amounting to billions of shillings.
At one time while speaking in Mombasa, Gachagua stated.
The business community in Nairobi was losing Sh3 billion daily.
This is a big blow to our economy that was at the lowest ebb.
As we know, the economy was in a very bad shape when we took over the reign of power.
President Ruto and I we immediately started working day and night to rebuild it.
It is unfortunate that Azimio has resorted to bloody protests to sabotage our efforts.
When you destroy the economy, you are basically destroying the livelihoods and the future of the Kenyan people.

He always spoke as a national leader. As for damage inflicted by Azimio demonstrations, he always defended the rights of all Nairobians.
This capital city is a cosmopolitan. As a government, our job is to protect the rights of those doing businesses and working class.
Back to the raid at Kenyatta’s farm, we heard his critics making these claims for only few days.
Why did they chicken out? This is simply because they had no iota of truth and evidence to support the claims.
They feared that they would land in big troubles if Gachagua opted to sue them.
Why were they targeting DP? It is simply because they believed he shared the same sentiments with those calling out former President Uhuru Kenyatta as the sponsor of Raila’s Mandaamano.
Therefore, the ultimate goal was to endear themselves to the former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his mother, the former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
They opted to chicken out because they lacked answer to this reasoning.
Even if Gachagua supported the narrative that Uhuru was sponsoring Raila’s demonstrations, it was hard to use this as a basis of connecting him to the raid.
It is worth noting that Gachagua was not the only one who appeared to take on the former President.
The Kenya Kwanza brigade in other parts of the country was also not taking it lightly.
The latest media reports have indicated that these allegations were being revisited.
Gachagua was again being on spotlight. This comes at a time when he had announced his plans to reach out to former President Uhuru Kenyatta for a truce.
“Uhuru Kenyatta is our son. When he was at the helm of power he represented our interests-the people of the Mountain-very well.
He is still a respected elder statesman and we are proud of him. It is true I differed with him during the campaigns. Politics being what it is; this was normal. For now, I’m reaching out to him for a truce”, Gachagua stated recently during an interview on iNooro FM.
He added; I’m the senior most leader in the Mount Kenya region. I was selected and anointed by God. Therefore, I’m looking forward to unite the Mountain behind President William Ruto.
This is my take. His critics in the Mountain have a feeling that he stands a high chance of reaching out and and persuading former President to accept a handshake with him.
This development will thrust and elevate him to the coveted seat of the kingpin of the Mountain.
The DP’s critics are envious and do not want him to succeed.
This explains why they have resorted to replaying the card of raid at Kenyatta’s farm.
On raid, I’m sure even today they do not have an iota of truth.
I tends to believe that Gachagua will do something. He should not let them continue politicizing the matter.
We know a good number of the leaders from the Mountain are also angling themselves for the kingpin.
I would not expect them to beat Gachagua.
Some of them tried to play the same card in the run up to 2022 General Elections. They failed.
