The Role of Cyberweek Africa 2023
Enter Cyberweek Africa 2023, a pioneering initiative by Cyberpro Global in partnership and collaboration with University of Nairobi (School of Computing and Informatics), Kenya school of government, Information communication Authority (ICTA) and the Israel Embassy (Department of economic affairs). Based on the quarterly report from the National KE-CIRT/CC of July-September 2023, the total cybersecurity threats detected was 123,899,936; System attacks taking lead in the attacks while web application were relatively minimal but their impact was significant just to mention a few; the e-citizen, the KRA, Safaricom and Lipa na Mpesa applications. This event stands as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a more secure digital future for Africa. By addressing the cybersecurity skills gaps through initiatives such as advanced training, collaboration, and innovative skill development, Cyberweek Africa 2023 is not merely an event; it is a catalyst for change towards a tomorrow’s safe cyberspace.
