Former Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Moses Njue, who passed away at the age of 61, was laid to rest at his ancestral farm in Rwika Sub-location, Mbeere South Constituency, Embu. Dr. Njue had a career spanning over three decades, rising through the ranks to become chief government pathologist and later serving as the Chief Executive Officer at the Embu Level Five Hospital.
He faced legal challenges over allegations of organ harvesting but maintained his innocence and was eventually acquitted alongside his son Lemuel Muriithi due to lack of evidence.
Mourners at his burial, including current Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor, eulogised him as a forthright, go-getter, and a great mentor.
They praised Dr. Njue for his integrity, teamwork, and guidance and urged others to follow in his footsteps.
Dr. Charles Muturi and Dr. Titus Ngulungu also praised Dr. Njue for inspiring them to pursue careers in pathology.
Other leaders present at the funeral ceremony included Embu Senator Alexander Mundigi and former Mbeere South MP Godfrey Kinga’ang’i, who called on young people aspiring to venture into medicine to emulate him.
CDr. Njue was the founder and director of Kings Medical Training College in Nyeri county, served as a lecturer at Embu University and Kenya Methodist University, and was in his retirement running a funeral home in Kiritiri Township.
