Nyeri County Senator Eng. Ephraim Maina Kirinyaga has been endorsed by his home constituency voters as the best fitting leader to be the next area governor.
More than 10,000 voters representing thousands of others from the voter rich Mathira constituency met with Senator Maina where they vowed to mobilize Nyerians in supporting his bid to be the fifth governor.
The voters said Senator Maina who is the Jubilee party candidate has a track record and they were optimistic he would steer the county forward once he assumes office after the August 9th General Election.
Senator Maina’s meeting with stakeholders from Mathira West sub-county is one of the many that he has continued to hold in his bid to consolidate support ahead of the election.
On his part, he promised to address various ills currently facing the loca residents, among them wanting health care services and corruption in the local government.
Other leaders seeking the area gubernatorial seat include the incumbent Mwalimu Mutahi Kahiga of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, Dr Thuo Mathenge of The New Democrats (TND) and Economist Peter Maina Munyiri who is running as an Independent candidate.
