Kenol court

A Kenol court has pardoned a young man who had been arraigned and charged with stealing six water jerricans and a blanket.
Delivering the judgement, Senior Resident Magistrate Sheila M. Nyaga noted that the accused’s predicaments seemed deeper than what was presented in court.
According to the prosecution, on September 12th in Murang’a South Sub County at around 9am, the complainant went to fetch water but found her six jerricans missing.
Alarmed, she scanned through the compound and noticed a blanket she had hanged on the fence was missing as well.
The complainant picked the remaining cans and proceeded to fetch water when along the way something caught her attention.
She saw the blanket and moved closer only to find the accused covering himself with the blanket under a shade.
Moreover, the jerricans were beside him.
She raised the alarm and the accused fled but was accosted just a few metres away by the people who had heard the complainant’s screams.
On being caught, the accused was found wearing women’s undergarments namely a bra and an underwear.
This prompted the mob to call the police who arrested him and was later arraigned.
Apart from stealing the jerricans and a blanket, the suspect’s mother had indicated to the court that her son had of late become a troubled child and that she was praying for him to change as he had left his own home in Kangari to live with the mother and sister.
He pleaded guilty and was convicted on his plea of guilt and in mitigation asked for forgiveness from the court.
The magistrate forgave him on the condition that he would stop being troublesome and seek spiritual help if that would help put his life in order.
