The Project Management Institute (PMI) has unveiled The Shift Code™, a new podcast series exploring the intersection of leadership, change management, and project success in driving organisational and digital transformation. Hosted by PMI President and CEO Pierre Le Manh, the podcast features candid conversations with top executives across industries, providing insights into effective leadership and project execution.
The first season debuts with Steve Altemus, CEO of Intuitive Machines, the aerospace company that made history in February 2024 by becoming the first commercial entity to soft-land a spacecraft on the Moon. This week, the company successfully launched Athena, its IM-2 lunar lander, as part of NASA’s technology delivery program. In his episode, Altemus discusses how strategic project management has played a pivotal role in advancing space exploration.
“What we’ve tried to do is find lean and affordable ways to work,” Altemus explained. “Innovation comes out of overly constrained budgets, overly constrained schedules, and a very difficult technical challenge. Forced innovation is what happens when you take on that insurmountable challenge.”
The series aims to highlight how leaders across diverse sectors are leveraging project management to drive groundbreaking innovation.
Pierre Le Manh emphasized the podcast’s goal of showcasing real-world problem solvers who are making an impact through strategic project execution.
“When you’re breaking new ground, people want to know the formula,” said Le Manh. “From drastically lowering the cost of space exploration to revolutionizing how we grow food, these conversations cut through the noise to show how project management drives real innovation, solves impossible problems, and moves humanity forward.”
PMI’s The Shift Code™ podcast is available on major streaming platforms, offering listeners a chance to learn from global industry leaders about the power of effective project management in shaping the future.
