What do understand by words “self-awareness”. This is the ability to evaluate your own self and being able to take control of whatever runs in your brain. ln simple terms “knowing you”.A lot of people undergo mental stress which if they don’t realize the brain is loosing control, they go into depression.
Depression is like an invisible monster that alters the brain function like a drug. You will find that some people start smoking and drinking at this period because they feel like forgetting the battle they are fighting will relieve their inner pain.
Alcohol will only weaken your strength to fight depression. The moment you become sober, whatever is stressing you will come as a bigger shock than before because you gave it a resting brake.
You find that most people commit suicide after sobering up because of the impact, others end their lives after long hours of isolating themselves because they loose the sense of living. They feel like they are already in a different world full of pain and suffering.
As the civilization ambassador it’s high time we fight depression. A lot of people don’t like opening up because of fear of being judged. We are living in the 21st century and in a civilized society, if someone shares a problem with you, it means they trust you, it means they feel like you may be their way out. Don’t make a joke out of somebody who is suffering from the inside.
Inner wounds hurt more than outer wounds. If you can’t help that person, you also trust someone who can be of help to that person. Making someone’s problem a laughing stalk and at the end of the day the person commits suicide, you are not less than a killer, you are also a demon.
For those going through hard times, avoid being alone, killing yourself and running away from the treasures of the world is never a solution. Talks to people, those who have been there, tell us your stories. l might be laughing but am going through what you overcame and your story may inspire my mental stability and win over depression. Above all, during your fight over depression, eat healthy, get a lot of pineapples and visit specialists not forgetting finding engaging activities and hobbies involving friends.
FIGHTING DEPRESSION IS A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY
