- In future, I pray that women’s day should be a reminder of the efforts of those who fought for a better world of all women. I hope also we all live in the world where justice exists for all women.
- Who is a woman? Some men define their women as their property which is not true. They expect them not to exceed certain time of evening before getting home, not to speak to any men, not to make decisions in the home, expect women to seek permission before doing anything or going somewhere, they expect them to sit down on a mat while men sit up in chairs, and some cultures, some women were barred from eating certain food like grasshopper, liver, chicken and so on.
We need to first appreciate that we have incredible women who persist in a world that limit them. Women are all unique and that’s the beauty of it all. Being raised up by a strong, courageous, incredible woman I have always been aware of the meaning of a woman. My mother is everything that encompasses my perspective of womanhood as I aspire every day to be a brilliant and kind as her.
International women’s day should always highlight the achievements of women, but also bring to light the rights that protect and guide a woman worldwide aimed at involving the feminine gender into the daily duties of the society.
Just like we are all created in the image of God, an African woman deserves a second thought, not only Africa but also world-wide. It’s important to note that, oppression, suppression, violence, torture, manipulation, sexual abuses, and exploitation, climate change crisis have all been hipped on a woman and yet a woman is the sole influencer of the society’s growth since they possess characteristics that build community in themselves.
However, Women have affection, Humility, Empathy, Kind, Tenderness, Sensitive, Expressiveness, Passivity, and are devoted. But also supportive in a family and society,
Which all make a woman very beneficial to the society since all these traits are passed on to children within society hence building a community.
Therefore, violation of their rights and what they ought to get, may be from their partners (husbands, relatives, parents) deprives that human dignity which by nature is incorporated into us by God, can easily subject them to being subjects of torture, Incompetence, Self-rejection and Irresponsible because of dis-regarding them, making them subjects to family duties and nothing else, though this support doesn’t take away the fact of performing a woman’s responsibility.

I just wonder how society would be so fooled into accepting all these inhuman tendencies as normal. This has led to failure to understand and appreciate the gender differences between men and women.
A woman is someone’s granddaughter
A woman is someone’s daughter
A woman is someone’s mother
A woman is someone’s sister
A woman is someone’s employer
A woman is someone’s employee
A woman is someone’s customer
A woman is someone’s workmate
A woman is someone’s lover
A woman is someone’s WIFE
A woman is some one’s friend
A woman effects things in a family which all are focusing to the whole community.
A woman supports a man
She is blessed with a gift of building a home, and a community.
She is a MOTHER
With all these identities, men must understand that no woman in the world can or should be treated as a property.
If she comes home late, she has the reason,
If she does not want you she has the reason,
If she wants to visit her mother, sister, brother, friends she has the reason,
If she wants a moment alone she has the reason,
A woman has a reason for all her actions and in action
Then men must LET WOMEN BE
In conclusion, a woman ought to fulfil her duties as they are well ascribed to her, though men should remember to give a helping hand. Women are responsible for social economic change in society and this gives us the ability to believe that celebrating women’s day once a year is not enough.
Above everything we discussed, men may say the opposite and they too, should be treated like-wise by their wives. In this case, the doctrine of equity applies, which says that, “He who seeks equity must come with clean hands.”
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY under the theme of Gender equality today for sustainable tomorrow.
