‘A Movement Is Coming’: Kalonzo Signals Political Shake-Up Ahead of 2027

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka On thursday, met with aspirants from across the country at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi, a meeting that signaled the early rumblings of what he described as a “new earth-shaking movement” that is poised to redefine the political landscape.
Speaking during the meeting, Musyoka urged aspirants to prepare for a transformative moment, hinting at a new political identity that will anchor their campaign to unseat President William Ruto in 2027.
“A movement is coming, a movement to ensure Ruto is a one-term president. This is not just about politics, it’s about reclaiming the soul of this nation,” he declared.
He reassured the aspirants that the Wiper Party nomination process would be conducted transparently and fairly, signaling an aggressive nationwide campaign strategy.
“We will field candidates in all 290 constituencies, 1,450 wards, and all 47 gubernatorial and senatorial seats,” Kalonzo emphasized.
The party leader also welcomed defectors and fresh aspirants joining the Wiper Democratic Movement from different parts of the country, saying the party was is open to all leaders committed to integrity, service, and democratic values.
“I encourage you all to go beyond rhetoric and engage citizens at the grassroots by ensuring voter registration and party membership enrollment in every corner of the country. For the avoidance of doubt, it will be Kalonzo Musyoka versus William Ruto on the ballot. Let there be no confusion,” He affirmed.
Turning his attention to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), he called on the electoral body to resist any form of external manipulation.
“You’re not here to serve Ruto. You’re not here to serve Kalonzo Musyoka. You are here to serve the people of Kenya,” urged Kalonzo.
The former vice president further reiterated his earlier position regarding the tragic death of Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla, who was killed in an helicopter crash stating that he was eliminated.
“I do not believe it was an accident. I’m ready to record a statement with the DCI. The President and the Chief of Defence Forces are two of the most protected people in this country. The postmortem report doesn’t align with what we are being told.”
His wiper leader remarks are likely to fuel ongoing political debate ahead of the 2027 election season, as he positions himself and the Wiper Party as a central force in the opposition alliance.
