Worth Noting:

  • In any case the judge is keen to know whether you are a first time offender or you have had such behaviours in many other times in the past. If proved you are a habitual offender your punishment is heavier than that of a first time offender.
  • Main purpose of justice system is to deliver justice to all by protecting the innocent, convicting criminals and providing a fair justice process to help keep order across the country thereby keeping the citizens safe.
  • When cases are not of criminal nature they can be solved through the alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. This requires mediation, negotiation, neutrality and reconciliation.

When you are in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude. We don’t get to know people when they come to us; we must go to them to find out what they are like……….. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Many are times when people say that I do not care attitude leads to I wish I knew. Failing to evaluate possible outcomes of your actions promotes the chances of you regretting after committing an offense through action or inaction. In such a case you have no one to blame for what will befell you as you consciously contributed towards that undesirable outcome.

Feeling more important than the rest of people or pride is the major factor that makes one not to care of the bad consequences that his actions may cause to others only for those affected or their sympathizers to follow up with you and ensure justice is done resulting to you being punished. As you suffer due to your deeds you regret wishing that if such a chance arises again you would refrain from acting without care.

In any case the judge is keen to know whether you are a first time offender or you have had such behaviours in many other times in the past. If proved you are a habitual offender your punishment is heavier than that of a first time offender.

When cases are not of criminal nature they can be solved through the alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. This requires mediation, negotiation, neutrality and reconciliation. The willingness of the parties involved to accept that something has gone wrong and there is need to discuss with an aim of correcting the anomaly is important.

The process is less costly compared to going through court rooms and there is also friendlessness in approach of these cases.

Each and every human being all over the world has own tastes and preferences. The fact that yours are not like mine does not make me better off than you or you worse off than me. It is just a natural orientation so we should be ready to recognize the existence of such differences and appreciate them by having unity in diversity. They help to establish our unique identities.

Mannerisms like keen listening while others are speaking to you even when you do not agree with whatever they are saying are good attitudes which help to better relationships between the speaker and the audience.

Speaking in moderate tones and calmness during heated debates or controversial times is a good attitude that makes those you are dealing with to feel respected and develop culture of loving you hence wanting to work with or alongside you.

In case you are in conflict with someone seeking a mediator to quell the situation may result to quick solving of the issue at hand and minimize the number of casualties. The hostility would be deescalated with every party involved feeling it is respected despite there being conflict of interests.

Showing remorse in times of conflict may soften to heart of the rival party, make it easy to reconcile and be at peace with minimum casualties as well as promote peace in the future which may involve friendship.

Demonstrating readiness to compensate the party which has suffered loss during your conflict as a result of your misbehavior would restore calmness among you providing an enabling environment for further discussion about the restoration process and laying a firm foundation for a peaceful future.

Speaking the truth about what happened that resulted into conflict helps the rivals to see you as a sincere person who could be discussed with possible remedial measures for the loss that has happened.

They are persuaded that out of misunderstanding you inflicted pain to them but you have now learnt a bitter lesson and that you are ready to change your stand for the common good of all those you are in conflict with. If the conflict was out of neglect which you can promise not to exercise at any other time in future they are willing to trust you.
