The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Eng. Eric Murithi Mugaa has called on the Ministry Staff to be the true ambassadors of the institution.
During a meeting held yesterday at the Ministry Headquarters’ Maji House, with the two Principal Secretaries and Heads of Departments from the two State Departments, the CS emphasized that Ministry Staff should be good ambassadors who should not keep quiet when misinformation about the Ministry is being spread out there.
Murithi, who was meeting the Heads of Departments for the first time since taking over the reigns of the Ministry, urged all the staff to serve wananchi diligently and to fulfill their mandates to the people of Kenya to the letter as service to Kenyans is a solemn responsibility entrusted to them as the current office bearers.
The CS said that the Ministry has turned a new leaf and it is no longer business as usual for all the members of staff.
He emphasized that for the Ministry to forge forward, “we have to work as cogs in a machine. If one cog is not aligned with the others, the machine cannot function.”
Noting Kenya’s new paradigm shift in the offing, the Cabinet Secretary urged all the employees to embrace change and seek to leave a mark in their time in office and also rededicate themselves to serving Kenyans with humility, honesty and transparency.
