A Nyeri Town based businessman has sued Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company (NYEWASCO) after he was served with termination of contract of managing the Whispers Park Sanitation facility located along Gakere street in Nyeri town.

(Wakioro) filled a case at the local Law Courts challenging the decision by the Water and Sanitation provider to terminate the contract that was to take effect on 1st of March 2023.
Wakioro appearing before Magistrate Mary Gituma through his lawyer Muhoho Gichimu, requested to be given 14 days to respond to Nyeri Water Company replying affidavit over the matter.
The businessman wants the court to issue an injunction restraining the termination of the existing public sanitation facility contract between him and the company.
Further, he is seeking another restraining order of any form of interference with his operations and management of the facility pending hearing and determination of the issue before the court.
Whispers Park Sanitation facility was constructed in 2014 by the Nyewasco upon receiving a grant from the German co-operation and the European Union which were channeled through the Water Services Trust Fund.
The facility is under the management of Send Us Nyeri Self Help Group whose chairman the complaint in the case.
