Nyeri National Polytechnic To Launch Competency Based Skills Curriculum

Nyeri National Polytechnic is set to launch a skilled based curriculum that will conform with the new education system.

According to the institution Chief Principal David Maina Mwangi, the new Curriculum will kick off before the end of the month.

Tomorrow,  the institution will be launching the Competency Based Skills Curriculum during an event that is expected to be graced by among others Principal Secretary in charge of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) and Chief Executive Officer for Kenya National Qualifications Authority.

Yesterday,  Mwangi revealed that his institutions had lined up 92 different courses which students can train at the facility which is situated less than two kilometres from Nyeri town.

Some of the new courses that are up for grab by potential learners are jua-kali based like Mechanic, Capentry, Mason, Plumbing,  Hair Dressing  Tailoring,  among others.

Mwangi want various stakeholders, especially those in different sectors to join hands with his institution in advising what courses it should offer in order to make their students employable easily.

Tomorrow’s event is expected to also create a forum where such stakeholders can air their views.
