By: John Kariuki

The government has been implored upon to open up the rural areas in a bid to spur economic development in those places

Speaking during a groundbreaking ceremony at Lenchani in Kajiado, Dr. Hezekiah Kariuki who is the Chief Executive Officer of Comfort Homes, cited underdevelopment as the greatest impediment to settlement in those areas.

“We are urging the government to open up this area through infrastructure development such as improvement of the roads. Water is also a scarce commodity here.”

Dr Kariuki said if the social amenities are provided, the area can become more habitable and conducive in a bid to attract investors as well as ease congestion in the urban and town centres.

The prime project at Lenchani goes for Ksh 300,000 for an eighth acre plot. The beauty of it is that the client is given the opportunity to pay a ten percent deposit and the instalment in one year.
