Officials from the National Crime Agency (NCA), UK’s lead agency in the fight against organised crime yesterday paid a courtesy call to the DCI Director Mr Mohamed Amin, at his Mazingira Complex offices.
The officials Simon Faulkner and Amanda Hickman, NCA’s International liaison officers were on a mission to explore ways in which we can strengthen the collaboration that DCI has had with NCA, in the fight against organized crime not only in the country but along the Horn of Africa.
The National Crime Agency, has previously sponsored and facilitated capacity building programmes aimed at improving the professional and investigative capacity of our officers in dealing with organised crimes including Drugs and Human Trafficking, Money Laundering, Smuggling, Crimes against Children and Terrorism among others.
The British High Commission through the National Crime Agency has been our valued partner for many years and their support in developing our human resource capacity cannot be overemphasised.
For instance, two years ago the National Crime Agency sponsored the construction and equipping of a Child Protection centre of excellence in Mombasa that has rescued hundreds of vulnerable children from abuse and exploitation.
The Director of Criminal Investigations Mr Mohamed Amin, has on behalf of the Directorate, thanked the NCA for the mutually beneficial partnership and committed to strengthen the cooperation between the two institutions.
