Man, 61 years, to be detained for 7days over allegation of killing his step son

Sabastian Matundura 61 has appeared in Kisii Law Court over allegation of killing his step son.
It is alleged that on 8/1/2023 at Igonga Location the accused person hacked to death his step son Peter Bogecho, 31 while fighting.
On 9/1/2023, the accused person surrended himself at Gesonso police station.
Matundura appeared before senior resident Magistrate Paul Mutai under miscellaneous application.
Prosecution council Job mwati on his application told the court to grant them 7 days to complete investigations following the affidavit sworn in by the investigation officer handling the case.
He further said that the accused person to undergo mental assessment and witnesses to record statement.
On his mitigation, the accused person agreed to be detained at Gesonso police station.
The Court said that having considered the application of the prosecutor, it has allowed the accused person to be detained at Gesonso Police station as officer Carry out the investigation.
Mentioning of the case will be on 19/1/2023.
