In pursuit of peace and security in Marsabit County, the multi-agency security team engaged in various law enforcement duties over the weekend.
The team conducted intensive patrols within Kargi Division, and recovered three Mark 4 Rifles that had been surrendered to the Chief of Kargi Location by the elders.
In addition, the security team stopped and searched two motor vehicles between Segel and Kargi, they arrested the drivers and a suspected illegal alien of Ethiopian origin.
The three firearms are in safe custody at Marsabit Police Station, while the arrested persons were handed over to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Marsabit for further police action.
The security team then proceeded to Parchuma and Turusi areas within Laisamis Sub-County in response to a report of stolen Camels and goats.
They engaged with the community elders from Laisamis led by the area Chief, and laid strategies on how to recover the stolen camels and goats.
