The Kiambu County Department of Health Services has completed a four-day training programme for healthcare workers aimed at equipping them with skills to monitor and prevent infections after caesarean deliveries.
The training aims to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes, ensuring safer deliveries and healthier recoveries for mothers and their newborns. The government is also working on the Githunguri Level 5 Hospital, which will enhance access to medical services for local and neighbouring communities. “The importance of this training cannot be overstated, as it directly impacts maternal and neonatal outcomes, ensuring safer deliveries and healthier recoveries for mothers and their newborns,” Kiambu Health CECM, Dr. Elias Maina said.

Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu has urged motorists to be vigilant and observe traffic regulations to reduce accidents. The warning comes after four people, including three foreigners and a Kenyan driver, died in a tour vehicle accident on the Narok-Bomet highway.
Ntutu condoled the loss of lives and called for motorbike riders to wear protective gear like helmets and reflector jackets. He also called on wheat farmers to be vigilant during crop harvesting season due to regular robbery cases. He encouraged farmers to open bank accounts to save money and avoid carrying it in their pockets. Ntutu also urged residents to embrace progressive politics and shun dirty politics to boost their livelihoods.
President William Ruto has sent home four board members of the New Kenya Co-operative Creameries Limited (New KCC) and replaced them with immediate effect.
The four board members revoked are; Geoffrey Noah Angwenyi, David Kipkurui Samoei, Col.(Rtd) Rukia Rashid and Elisha Biwot.
In a Gazette Notice, Ruto announces the fresh appointment of Noah Ndemo Nyachae, Rawlynce Bett, Naisula Keko and Sarah Keino to the board.
Their appointments take effect from Tuesday, August 6, and will run until March 9, 2026.
In a joint operation, detectives drawn from the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) and the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) over the weekend apprehend an ill- famed drug trafficker Abdalla Abdi Wambugu in Kwa Njoroge Estate in Kanugaga area of Kawangware in Dagoretti North where they managed to recover assorted narcotics with a street value of Ksh 646,480.
Upon arrest, search was conducted in his residence resulting to recovery of assorted drugs including 72.39 grams of methamphetamine, 16.84 grams of cocaine, 3.83 grams of ecstasy, ksh 202,000 in cash, digital weighing scales, assorted glass tubes- bongs among other exhibits.

Othaya constituency Member of Parliament Michael Wambugu Wainaina alias MountKenya hosted a team from Ajira Digital who paid him a courtesy call where they had fruitful deliberations on various ways of improving Ajira Program in his constituency. They also discussed the challenges facing the sector, such as slow internet connectivity and inadequate laptops, among others. The MP reiterated that his office will always be at the forefront of supporting and sensitizing such programmes that are of utmost benefit to the youths.
