I am not an entertainer
I am not a pastor
I am not a preacher
I am not a teacher
I am a poet and an author
I have a talent
I have not been in front
I have a gift
I have not used it right
I have poems and stories,
I did not write
The cemetery is not home
The grave is not a dome
Death is not good or bad
It swallows both good and bad
I am scared as I lay on my bed
Death is no respecter of persons
It takes farmers and peasants
It consumes teachers and preachers
It kills actresses and actors
Even nurses and doctors
Death is not a loser
Neither is it a chooser
Death seized my father
Death snatched my only brother
Both sculptors with unfinished
Sculptures
I am not going to lie
We are all going to die
With plenty of stories to tell
With anthologies of poems to sell
Death will facilitate the way to
Heaven or hell!
