Leading real estate firm Optiven has lined up several community based activities within Nakuru County as it sets its footprint in the fourth city in the country.
The firm has pledged to support a clinic in an accident prone Salgaa area along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway, support the area governor’s Street Children initiative, and also have a similar project for the less fortunate families in the area.
Yesterday, the firm Chief Executive Officer (CEO), George Wachiuri, disclosed that his organisation anticipates creating about 1000 jobs directly and indirectly as it continues to make positive change in the society.
He made the disclosure when his team visited the county officials at the Milimani Governor’s office.
They were hosted by the County Secretary Dr. Gitau together with Alex Maina who is the Chief Officer, Trade and Resource Mobilization and Stephen Iribe Njogu, the CEC Finance among other County officials.
During the meeting, Optiven shared its journey of transformation for the last 23 years, together with its vision of economically and socially empowering communities.
Wachiuri noted that his firm intends to mix affordable housing and value-added plots in the first initial project, which is funded by Equity Bank and located at the Ex-Margaret area.
The county officials committed to support Optiven in approvals of the project plus any other support required.
Optiven has also opened its office in Nakuru at Golden Life Mall, 7th floor, which will be the nerve centre for its activities in the region.
Optiven operates in other countries, including Laikipia, Nyeri, Kajiado, Kilifi, Nairobi, and Machakos, among others.
Optiven Foundation which is chaired by Wachiuri has other programs that it carries out in these counties and which will be replicated in Nakuru.
These include scholarships to the less fortunate, program for the aged, children with celebral pulsy, sanitary pads for girls, children, homes, and street children.
