Worth Noting:
- The Second Lady Dorcas also decried the rising cases of Homosexuality and Lesbianism. This is happening even in our schools. Again, it is our responsibility as teachers and chaplains to address this menace.
- As way of fast-tracking her efforts, Pastor Dorcas revealed her plans to launch the Office of the Spouse of Deputy President (OSDP) next month in February.
- She said the OSDP Strategic Framework will be anchored on five pillars that seek to transform the lives of young people, Orphans, people living disability and most vulnerable populations.
A few days ago, Pastor Dorcas, the wife of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, delivered a key note address at Teachers’ Conference held in Chania High School in Thika.
Her theme focused on how to build a strong Kenyan society that is rooted on the core values of biblical teachings and moral uprightness.
I know apart from being teachers, you are chaplains in your respective schools.
We are birds of the same feather. I’m also a trained teacher, pastor and wear a hat of chaplaincy.
I, therefore, wish to call upon you to come out and join me in fighting the evils that have been destroying the lives of our people.
She cited alcohol and drug and substance abuse. Young people, our children, are the most affected.
As a mother and a pastor, I feel the pain when I see their lives being ruined and wasted during formative stages.
As teachers, you spend many hours with these children in schools and as a teacher I know they take what you teach them seriously.
I urge you to pull up your socks, play your role of moulding them to become good citizens.
Don’t fear that you will look bad if you talk about it openly. If we fail to do this, we are going to lose a whole generation. So focus on the big picture of saving their lives.
Teaching and discouraging them from indulging in these vices is not enough.
We should take much of our time to offer lessons on biblical teachings. We know the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
We should also strive to reach out and help young people out there who were being held captive to these vices.
Some of them have become zombies and you will find them early in the morning sleeping on the road side.
When you engage them that is when it will hit on you they were literally living in another world.
We need to help them.

Besides the Kenya Kwanza government, her agenda resonates very well with local and international donors and well-wishers. As a renowned long serving pastor, she also has close ties with religious leaders and Christian Organizations across the world.
All of these will be ready to support her work.
As a born again Christian, I fully subscribe to her agenda. I promise to use my knowledge of writing to further the noble course of the outfit.
Pastor Dorcas, I wish you all the best.
