Athuri a Kiama Kia Ma Kiambu county under the able leadership of Kiambu patron Hon. George Nyanja and the caretaker county office met at Gatundu North Kanyoni to coronate Mathingira which will be used to enrich our young boys and men of the Agikiyu cultural – traditional as well Christian life morals to better our society and ensure a better tomorrow for our coming generation. The ceremony that was attended by bonafide Gikuyu Elders from Kiambu County and its neighboring counties was graced and presided over by Retired Senior Chief Muthamaki Thiongo Wa Gitau, in attendance was Kajiado County Patron Mr. Mbote.
Patron Nyanja and Gatundu North Patron Wakili Kimemia also at the same time brought to an end the sharp split in Gatundu Kiama Kia ma association that had been orchestrated by the wrangles brought about by some selfish individuals who purport to be Kiama patrons for they own political or social status mileage taking advantage of the respected and innocent Cultural Elders.
Now Gatundu North Kiama and Kiambu at large is speaking in one solid voice that Kiambu County office is under the leadership of Patron Nyanja and the caretaker county office up until Feb 2024 when patron Nyanja will call for a county Congress to elect the county office after this year’s boys circumcision exercise.
The patron also cited that those individuals who are having sleeplessness nights to see that kiama Kia ma Kiambu County does not unity will be defeated by the will of God and because of the love of culture, he noted that Kiama Kia ma works with the government and the church too, he added that Kiama Kia ma recognises and respects these two institutions and asked them to ensure a conductive working environment for us to ensure we serve our people as called for in our different roles.
Muthamaki Thiongo stated that the Athamaki council national level have sat and agreed that this year’s Gikuyu circumcision age set is Gitiriha 8-4-4.
