Apparently, Sonko’s political career had died after the impeachment but he has risen with super enthusiasm, the art of mobilizing the public to vote him in the Mombasa gubernatorial position. The ability of Sonko to strategically and confidently come back, kind of portrays an artistic view of loss and betrayal. Citizen digital news on 23 Nov 2021 wrote that Sonko turned blogger and ‘recording artiste’ and wrote mostly on Facebook. One of his writing read… Do you know what it feels to believe God for something, but when you look at your situation, you see nothing? Go back and look again. The above justification allows me to brand Sonko an artist.
In other news, in the past few months Kenyans have been high on film and Kenyan based storytelling. Abel Mutua has a new storytelling show dubbed extraordinaire on Youtube telling Kenyan stories and in conjunction with PHIL-IT productions, he has told a Kenyan story in a film dubbed ‘Click Click Bang’ that is premiering on 15 and 16 July 2022 at Nairobi Cinema.
Kaka empire films have also launched a film dubbed ‘Kamtupe’ that tells Kenyan story. Joshua Muthui is not an exception; he launched a storytelling season dubbed Label A Brand on Sonrise Tv, Youtube. He is set to launch a new show called Wordplay, Punchlines and Puns on his youtube channel. Art is the future of the youths and the mass platform for employment and jobs to the youths, talk of editors, videographers, directors, producers, caterers, carpenters, graphic designers and creative industry in general.
