Tana Water Works Development Agency chairman Wanyaga Gathaka yesterday heeded a call by the Presidency for Kenyans of goodwill to assist floods victims.
Wanyaga visited victims at Githiru Primary School in Nyeri Town constituency where he donated relief supplies to dozens of victims.
The over 70 residents of Githiru area were displaced over the weekend after Chania River burst its banks near their homes.
Wanyaga, accompanied by former Gatitu/Muruguru Ward Member of the County Assembly (MCA) Anthony Mwangi Kibuu and local officials of the National government visited the victims, camping at the local primary school.
Addressing the victims, Wanyaga urged them to be resilient as they waiting for the next course of action by the government.
He called on other leaders and well-wishers to consider supporting affected Kenyans in various parts of the country.
Similar sentiments were aired by Kibuu, the administrators as well as some of the victims who were interviewed by journalists.
