That day, the test was a bit easier
And so the children looked enthusiastic
About finishing it first ever.
They were all so energetic
The first one said excitedly
“Finished it mom” and bit his tongue
I just waved at him and smiled merrily
Then the next child submitted the paper and hung
To say “finished it mom” and looked at me fretfully
I laughed this time gleefully
Then the entire class came one by one eagerly,
Said “finished mom” and giggled naughtily!
