Kenya is a country made up of 75%of the 47.6 million Kenyans are under 35 years old who are regarded as youths. This is a contribution of 25% aged 18-34 and 43% is aged below 15 years. This is in accordance to the 2019 population census. This data and statistics create a clear indication that our country needs the contribution of the youths in building our economy. The youths are always known to be a common wealth for the whole world. They reflect the our past, our present and mirage of our future; it’s because our youths reminds us of our of the greatest works of our young fallen heroes and heroines who fought for the deliberation of our country from the jaws of the colonial government who intimidated our well-being in our land as a freedom country.
The first political pioneers of Kenyan government was made renowned by young men fresh from institution of Higher learning these included the Former president Mwai Kibaki and Tom Thomas Mboya having a great contribution of the constitution making and pioneering the growth of just young country which had just gained independence. Their political engagements ware bore great fruits signifying a great prosperity for the youths in the fight and maturity of our country. Franklin D. Roosevelt once said “we can’t build future for our youths but always build future ourselves. “Young people are leave in a time that they need to be mandated to building their own country since they are taught with time to make reasonable choices for the betterment of our country.
The youths build character and every crucial part of betterment of our development. The power of restoration, renewal and maintenance of our economy is based in the life of the young generation. This maybe as a result of the skills in innovation and inventions in our youths. They are diverse in varsity of competency and computer literacy hence promoting the digital economy. The digital economy promotes the nation building by our youths as they find it conducive in working online and also promoting employment to the youths who are jobless visa vie the old model of working.
The youths are agents of labour and wen not maximised the law of diminishing return is devalued .This pictures out the kind of the gross domestic product we would have when we fail to maximise the youths in our country. The agroproduction in our country lies on the hands of our own youths who need to be promoted and motivated to capitalise on these sector which is believed to be the backbone of our economy.
In most instances youths have been misled in political rivalry and miss used by the political class to cause disruption and destruction in the country hence hindering the country’s economic growth due to closure of work places and business that creates avenues in building the country’s national income. The state need to take into account the reality and read the same script with the youths in building their national by promoting the youth’s forums based on national building.
