The New Democrats (TND) political party has called on Kenyans to keep peace in order to prosper in democracy.
Party leaders, led by Dr Thuo Mathenge, lauded Gen-Z for their courage in confronting some of the ills facing the country.
During the party top officials meeting held at Bantu Africa Resort and SPA near Nyeri town, they hailed the move by President William Ruto of dismissing the cabinet as they urged him to widely consult while forming the next one.
Dr Mathenge who is popularly known as Noo Wanguku noted that what the young Kenyans were doing is reminiscent to what he and other democrats did 34 years ago when pushed former President Daniel Arap Moi to accept multiparty democracy 1990.
“The New Democrats as a national party welcomes all for a government preparation formation of 2027,” Dr Mathenge said as he called on other leaders to guard the sovereignty of the country by shunning intruders who want to bring down peace in the country. “We ask the president to protect our Kenya constitution as peace is key to country’s development,” Dr Mathenge who is also a philanthropist and businessman said.
The officials urged Mount Kenya politicians to embrace TND as the region’s party of choice and which they will use during the 2027 General Election instead of supporting parties with basis outside the region.
