Key words: organization, heritage, traditions, member, culture, regional, community.
It is famous that the concept of the “Turkic world: in the world. This association contains countries which own turkic heritage, languages, and cultural traditions. The main part of this association located in Central Asia. When the process of becoming independent and positioning in Global government system, this organisation was established under the name “Organization of Turkic states” at the suggestion of Turkey. Apart from the Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan is also a member of this organization. Also, this institution has observer countries such as Hungary.
On November 12, 2021, the Cooperation Organization of Turkic States was transformed into the Organization of Turkic States at the initiative of the President of Turkey[1]. Hungary was included as an observer state. The next meeting of the organization was held in Samarkand on November 10-11, 2023. The Republic of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward a number of initiatives. Among them, Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a proposal “to create a structure for environmental protection of Turkish states”.
Turkish countries can achieve their development in scientific, economic and cultural fields through this cooperation. It can be said that the main cooperation in the world of Turkic countries develops through tourism. In economy, Turkish tourism has been a important contributor in the result of mass of tourists visiting Turkic countries every year. This collaboration goes beyond economic advantages, facilitating cultural exchange and reinforcing diplomatic ties
Also, the countries of Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are at the stage of development in the field of tourism. In 1991-2021, Kazakhstan began to make progress in the field of tourism and began to attract tourists by overcoming difficulties.
Kazakhstan became a member of the World Tourism Organization in 1993, and after this event, it developed its own tourism.
The biggest way to develop tourism is to strengthen relations and strong cooperation between the countries. A clear example of this is the work carried out in the field of tourism between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. From January 1, 2019, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan 30-day e-visa for citizens of 117 countries was launched by Kazakhstan’s migration service. We can clearly see that Kazakhstan is paying serious attention to the tourism industry by the fact that it took 52nd place among 119 countries in the 2024 travel tourism development index. During this year, Kazakhstan rose 14 places in the world tourism ranking. 4.5 million foreign tourists visited during 2024.Income from tourism amounted to 1.5 billion dollars.
If we look at Turkey, the number of tourists in the country increased by 13.9% in the first half of 2024. This means that 26.1 million people visited Turkey in these 6 months. The average daily spending of each tourist in Turkey is 98 US dollars. This means that the year By the end of the year, if 60 million tourists visit Turkey, Turkey will benefit from tourists by 60 billion. As we can see, tourism not only strengthens the relations between the countries, but also ensures the growth of the countries in the economic sphere.
1.5 million tourists visited Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2024. This figure increased by 2.1% compared to the same time in 2023. The majority of tourists who visited were citizens of Turkic countries: Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. .
It is important to mention the reforms of Uzbekistan in the development of tourism relations between Turkic countries. In 2022, by the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the decision “On measures for the rapid development of cooperation in the field of tourism with Turkish countries” (PQ-338,)[2] was adopted. With the decision, the tourism concept “Tabarruk ziyat” was approved within the Turkic world. Within the framework of the concept, seminars, symposiums, conferences, scientific-practical conferences will be held in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shahrisabz, Margilon, Kokand, Termiz and other historical cities about the scientific and cultural heritage of great scholars. Within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, the brand “Tabarruk Ziyat” will be created through mutual cooperation.
The Organization of Turkic States not only develops continuous tourism, but also strengthens its historical and cultural communication through the prism of tourism.
It can also be added that Uzbekistan is carrying out a number of reforms for the development of the tourism sector together with its sister country Turkey. For example, let’s take the organization “Turksoy” with its headquarters in Ankara. And the selected city will host Turkish cultural events. In 2019, Khiva was declared the cultural capital of the Turkish world. The governments of Uzbekistan and Turkey have invested a large amount to improve the country’s infrastructure. As a result, the convenience of tourists’ travel around the country has increased. The “Great Silk Road” international tourism center in Samarkand alone serves 2 million tourists a year. The construction of the complex began in 2019 on a 212-hectare land area along the rowing canal in Samarkand district. Inside the center there is a “Congress Hall” “boqiy shahar” complex, an amphitheater and other facilities.
As we can see, the field of tourism between the countries is the cause of cultural, economic and scientific developments. Especially, such relations between the Turkish countries strengthen the fraternal ties.
