Norman Mwale [The PenPusher]
This is how feelings are trapped
Humiliated of their pride
In the cell of confinement,
In this dungeon of unexplored
Dreams
Where promise wiggles and toils
Trying to waggle from within
This orbicular shell where life
Disintegrate,
Hoping the shell will fragment
So can flee the chains of
Curtailment
That the entire universe can see
The inside and not the outside
Of the beauty long buried and
Silenced
In the lowermost of the clam’s
Shell
But every shadow is a door
A passageway to the discovery of
A mirthful existence;
That all is dull is beauty out of
Sight
And the nutshell is but rough and
Dusty
Yet the indoors ply for the
World’s delicious butter
Only when the carapace has been
Busted
With these little fingers
Until the pearl jumps out of the
Oyster to the anticipating world
Then communities will gather their
Treasure in clear moonshine!
And live to treasure the once hidden
Beauty!
