A lot of places in the world rely on tourism as a main source of income. Unfortunately, tourism can also be a source of problems if it is not well-managed.
Do you think that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
Nowadays, most countries consider tourism as a means of profit. For many people, it offers many job opportunities. However, there are both pros and cons to deciding to do this. In this essay, I will discuss some of the reasons why tourism is beneficial for the community and some of the challenges to be overcome.
Let’s begin by looking at the advantages of tourists. One of the main positives is that it helps to rise the economy. What I mean by this is that it brings much money to the country. For instance, people who live in Dubai turn to tourism to make a living. Secondly, tourism may be helpful to keep the culture alive. In other words, profits come from tourists could be invested to ancient monuments and buildings to preserve them in good condition. In addition, tourists visiting to ancient places serve cultural exchange which makes a county more popular.
Turning to the other side of the argument, tourists have a tendency to neglect the environment and surroundings. To be more precise, most of them often throw rubbish away that makes the cities look untidy. Letʻs use Taj-Mahal as an example. There a lot of plastic bottles are always heaped. Another issue is the rise of costs in local places. In other words, the prices of services are determined to make the most of rich tourists. This process takes time and can be especially challenging for the local dwellers because everything becomes unaffordable for them.
All things considered, tourism is regarded a fundamental approach to promote the country. the nature to improve of economy and culture makes it special. However, some actions must be taken to overcome the likely problems such as increase of service costs and pollution. Personally, I believe the benefits in terms of finance and culture eventually outweigh any negatives.
