Diarrhea is the second largest killer disease among children. According to the World Health Organization, 19,000 babies die annually in Kenya. One in every nine babies under five years dies from diarrhea. Lack of clean drinking water is among the leading causes.
Homesteads should maintain high levels of hygiene to counter more fatalities; they should drink treated water which is free from bacteria and other dangerous parasites.
It is also important to cook food properly. Let’s increase survival of our babies by maintaining proper hygiene and high sanitation levels without leaving the whole responsibility to health officers.
